A Few Things About the NFL
October 16, 2005

1/ Neither Joey Harrington nor Kyle Boller are real solutions at quarterback. 2/ Daunte Culpepper dearly misses Randy Moss. 3/ LaDanian Tomlinson is the best running back since Barry Sanders. 4/ As witnessed with Philip Rivers and Cedric Benson, the greed of rookie holdouts may end up jeopardizing their early careers. 5/ Shaun Alexander better get his contract at the end of this season.

I think any team would miss Randy Moss, however, there have been bigger factors that have gone unobserved as to why the Vikings have been struggling this year. The top two factors are the losses of Scott Linehan and Matt Birk. Center is arguably the most important position after QB mainly because they call all of the blocking schemes...they are usually near the top when it comes to intelligence. So, they lost a Havard grad and a Pro-Bowler at Center...which is why their offensive line is absolutely horrible and has given Culpepper little if any time to throw the ball. The loss of Scott Linehan is also huge because you lose a great offensive coordinator and play caller...and even worse...now Mike "Homer" Tice is calling the plays. DOHHH!
