Redressing the Knights for a New Battle
May 01, 2006

Tell me this: How often does your favorite player from college end up playing for your favorite team in the pros? On Saturday, Floyd Reese of the Titans made me a happy man by selecting Vince Young as the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. And if that news alone wasn't enough for me to reserve my stay on Cloud 9 for the weekend, at night I found out that we had one of the steals of the draft, grabbing USC's 3rd down monster-of-a-back in LenDale White at the 45th spot. Now, for the first time since New England broke my heart in the 2003 season, I have a season to look forward to. Just the thought of Chris Brown, Travis Henry and LenDale White in the backfield with Vince Young and newly acquired David Givens connecting in the open field is getting me all crazy. However, the ideal situation of Steve McNair grooming Young for stardom is one still up in the air: It would be sad to see McNair leave, especially after his years of hard work and loyalty. And who could forget his effort in the Super Bowl against the Rams? Ah yes, that one yard. We'll get that yet.

Your entry reminded me of the quote "One of us is on the moon." :)
