Things never happen until they really happen. And that’s a little unfortunate because the art of the pre-emptive strike has now truly come into the mainstream. Competition for life, love, money and everything in between has propelled our sixth sense of anticipation into a new tier of ridiculousness. One has to wonder if half the battle is just to prove to ourselves that we can anticipate, that we’re smarter and better than the rest. But in the end, are we getting ahead of ourselves? Is the joke on us?

The greatest certainty is uncertainty.

And so, the crisis begins: What we have here is a moment to re-evaluate and re-discover. Time will watch over us as we circumvent our own ruinous mazes, those we made when we thought we were bigger and better than the rest. For now, it's up to us to ignore the battle, for the war is against us becoming the tail end of the punchline.
