Something, Something Old
Somewhere in the deep crevices of my historied past, I dug down and uncovered a journal entry, written sometime in March of 1999, unpublished. Usually, my habit dictates I immediately delete something I don't like, or edit it to hell. But this, well, it was just lying there, untouched. Can't believe it's taken me three and a half years to find it.

the greatest thing to get your mind off of the other half of the species is the combination of a) music and b) caffeine. of course, in case you're into more daring aspects of life and beveraging, you always have the option of vodka or something of that effect. music, on the other hand, can be of a variety as long as it moves you. take me: at this moment, i'm taking in the norman cook/fatboy slim mix of cornershop's brimful of asha. the trick is that all the lights in the room are off, sans the monitor's glare. i've even turned the alarm clock sideways so that its red, numeric lights don't disturb my attempt at losing myself. oh, and you know what works quite well? headphones. definitely headphones. i bought these headphones the other daythey work like a charm. even though it's past midnight now, i have the quaint liberty to turn the volume up as high as i please.

Nostalgia is refreshing.
