Oh No... Asians! / December 17 2003 The latest issue of ESPN The Mag deals with what's Next. One of the focuses was on Asians in the sports world. From this, I've taken into account one surprising and one saddening fact: Surprisingly, three of the top four money winners in the LPGA tourney this year are Koreans. And saddeningly, India has the lowest Olympic medals per capita in the world. In fact, at the 2000 games, they only one wonbronze in women's weightlifting. There is one small consolation, but those of you who do not consider golf a sport may not find much solace: Vijay Singh of Fiji, who is obviously of Indian ancestry, did beat out Tiger Woods for the money title in the PGA this year. | |
